The Arc Mercer believes hard work deserves a spotlight. The Employee of the Month program is a critically important way to honor the frontline heroes who drive our mission forward.
How It Works (In 3 Simple Steps)
We’ve designed a transparent, anonymous process to ensure the award is based purely on merit.
Nominate an employee through the Employee of the Month Nomination form on the agency website
The Peer Committee Review: * A volunteer group of at least five staff members reviews every nomination and selects a winner based on a majority vote. The nomination with the most votes from the committee will be selected as that month’s winner.
To prevent bias, all names are redacted, the committee votes based solely on the actions described in the nomination.
The committee members rotate annually and are primarily made up of mission-critical program staff (your peers!).
The Selection Committee looks for staff who embody these core values:
Mission Impact: Consistently puts the needs and goals of our consumers first.
Crisis Response: Stays calm and effective during challenging or high-stress situations.
Reliability: A "go-to" team member who is responsive and dependable.
Innovation: Takes initiative to improve a process or find a creative solution.
Leadership: Mentors others and maintains a positive, infectious attitude.
Final Compliance: The Executive Director Steve Cook performs a final check to confirm the winner meets all agency standards.
Who Qualifies?
Frontline Staff Only: FT, PT, or Per Diem (6+ months tenure).
In Good Standing: Must be a mission-driven team player!
Note: Managers/Admin aren't eligible for this, but can win the Team Impact Award.
The Rewards
$250 Gift Card & public honors at the TAC Luncheon.
Agency-wide recognition in the newsletter and flyers across all programs.
A Shot at the Big Prize: Automatic entry for Employee of the Year ($1,000 gift card and a Fall Gala spotlight!).
