January Recreation Recap: Engaging Consumers with Community and Creativity



The Arc Mercer’s Recreation Department continues to lead the charge in integrating consumers into the community through thoughtfully planned, exciting events. January was no exception, with a lineup of activities that showcased the department’s dedication to fun, engagement, and inclusion. Here’s a look back at the month’s highlights:


New Year’s Dance

The month kicked off with a lively New Year’s Dance, where consumers rang in 2025 with joy and music. It was a fantastic way to set the tone for a year full of meaningful events.


Tarzan at the Kelsey Theatre

A trip to the Kelsey Theatre at Mercer County Community College provided a chance to see the live-action play Tarzan. Consumers were captivated by the story, vibrant performances, and the energy of live theater.


NJ State Museum Visit

Exploration and learning took center stage during a visit to the New Jersey State Museum. Consumers engaged with exhibits showcasing art, science, and history, expanding their knowledge while enjoying a day of discovery.


Bingo Night

Friendly competition and laughter filled the room during Bingo Night, where consumers tested their luck and enjoyed socializing with friends.


Fitness Saturday

Staying active and healthy was the goal for Fitness Saturday. Consumers participated in a variety of fun exercises designed to promote physical well-being.


Painting with a Twist: Snowy Pines Edition

Creativity flourished at Painting with a Twist, where consumers painted beautiful Snowy Pines landscapes. The session offered a space for artistic expression and relaxation.


Monster Truck Event at Cure Arena

Excitement roared through the air at the Cure Arena as consumers witnessed high-powered monster trucks in action. The thrilling event was a crowd favorite.


DIY Snow Globe Crafting

Wrapping up the month, consumers showcased their creativity by building DIY snow globes. This hands-on activity allowed participants to take home a personalized keepsake.
