With Nurse Appreciation Week just recently past, the Arc Mercer is proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible nurses who play such an important role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we serve.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated on-call nurses, Desiree McDonald and Pauline Park-Maxwell, whose compassion, professionalism, and commitment make a lasting impact every single day. Whether responding to urgent concerns, supporting staff, coordinating care, or providing comfort and reassurance to consumers and families, both nurses consistently go above and beyond to ensure the highest quality of care.
In the IDD field, nurses are an essential part of the support system that helps individuals live healthy, fulfilling lives. Their work extends far beyond medical care. They are advocates, educators, problem-solvers, and trusted partners to both staff and consumers. From managing medications and monitoring health needs to offering guidance during challenging situations, nurses help create a safe and supportive environment across the agency.
Desiree and Pauline exemplify what it means to serve with heart. Their dedication, patience, and willingness to answer the call whenever needed have made them invaluable members of the Arc Mercer team. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen every day in the lives of the consumers and staff they support.
We thank Desiree McDonald and Pauline Park-Maxwell for their hard work, leadership, and unwavering commitment to care. The Arc Mercer is grateful for all that they do to support our mission and the people we serve.
