Ezekiel Freeman Receives the Dawn Carmosino Team Impact Award

The Arc Mercer is proud to recognize Ezekiel Freeman, Group Home Manager at Village, as our latest Dawn Carmosino Team Impact Award honoree, celebrating the leadership, compassion, and commitment he brings to the individuals, families, and employees he supports.

The Dawn Carmosino Team Impact Award is presented quarterly to recognize outstanding members of The Arc Mercer’s leadership and administrative teams. Like our Employee of the Month and Rising Star programs, anyone can submit a nomination when they see someone making a meaningful impact.

Ezekiel was nominated by Shanthini Lawrence and Lawrence Naresh, family members of Arc Mercer consumer Mervin Lawrence, following a birthday celebration organized for Mervin at his group home.

The Lawrence family shared how much the celebration meant to them, particularly the care and thoughtfulness that went into making the day special. Residents and friends from several homes were invited, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with friendship and community.

Most importantly, Mervin had a wonderful time.

The family also recognized Ezekiel’s staff, Thomas Henderson and Wonsehleay Jessey, for the kindness and care they demonstrated throughout the celebration. The Lawerence family noted that Ezekiel’s leadership helped set the tone for the entire experience.

“Ezekiel’s leadership and support were clearly reflected in how beautifully everything was organized,” the Lawrence family shared.

Their nomination highlights an important part of leadership at The Arc Mercer. A strong manager’s impact is not only reflected in day-to-day operations, but also in the culture they build, the staff they support, and the experiences they help create for individuals and their families.

The Lawrence family expressed their appreciation for the entire team and for the work employees often perform quietly behind the scenes to bring happiness, dignity, and a sense of community to the individuals we support.

As a Dawn Carmosino Team Impact Award honoree, Ezekiel receives a signed and framed certificate from the Office of the Executive Director, a congratulations balloon, a customized Arc Mercer plaque, and a $250 gift card.
