Celebrating Employees of the Month: Recognizing Dedication and Leadership

Each month, the Arc Mercer recognizes employees who consistently show up with compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the individuals supported by the agency. The Employee of the Month Award highlights staff members whose daily actions make a meaningful difference for consumers, families, and coworkers alike.

October Employee of the Month: Tiara Williams, DSP, Campus Day Program

Tiara Williams was nominated by LaShana Deacon, Recreation Manager, for her exceptional dedication to the consumers she supports. Tiara is recognized for her ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations, handling behaviors safely while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment. Her consistency and attentiveness have earned the trust of families, who feel confident knowing their loved ones are well cared for.

Tiara’s strong communication skills and commitment to keeping families informed reflect the high standard of care she brings to her role every day. Her work is a powerful example of how professionalism and compassion go hand in hand.

November Employee of the Month: Richard Galgano, OTC

Richard Galgano was nominated by Rosemary Reed, Employment Specialist, OTC–Yardville, in recognition of his leadership and unwavering dedication to the Arc Mercer’s mission. With four years of service, Richard approaches his role with care and intentionality, consistently making decisions that prioritize the best interests of the consumers he supports.

Richard has invested significant time and energy into teaching consumers plant care and job-readiness skills through the Arc Mercer’s horticulture program. His long-term vision focuses on creating meaningful opportunities, including preparing individuals for employment on the Arc Mercer farm. Richard’s hands-on leadership and commitment to growth, both for consumers and programs, continue to make a lasting impact.

In addition to agency-wide recognition, each Employee of the Month receives a $250 gift card as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions.

Honorees also become one of just 12 employees selected throughout the year who are eligible for the Employee of the Year Award.
