Arc Mercer's March 2024 Team Atmosphere Committee Meeting: Empowering Mission-Critical Staff Through Collaboration and Solutions

In a testament to the power of collaboration and employee-centric focus, Arc Mercer recently convened its Monthly Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) meeting, amplifying the voices and contributions of its mission-critical staff. This gathering not only showcased the agency's dedication to its mission but also celebrated the invaluable insights and suggestions offered by frontline employees.

The TAC meeting served as a dynamic forum where frontline staff shared their challenges and innovative ideas, leading to concrete solutions that directly addressed their needs.

Notably, staff at Metekunk group home raised concerns about the outdated dryer, which led to inconvenience and personal expenses incurred at laundromats. Thanks to their feedback, the agency swiftly provided a new dryer, ensuring operational efficiency and relieving financial burdens for staff.

Furthermore, frontline input spurred proactive measures to enhance staffing levels during critical early morning hours. Recognizing the importance of timely consumer delivery to the Day program, the agency responded by allocating additional support staff, enabling smoother transitions and improved consumer care.

Education emerged as a key theme, with staff seeking clarification on terminology and guidance on documentation practices. Their feedback prompted the distribution of educational materials and targeted training sessions, empowering staff with the knowledge and resources necessary for success in their roles.

The Special Needs program witnessed innovation and collaboration, with mission-critical staff driving the continuation of the gardening initiative. Through productive discussions at the TAC meeting, plans were devised to supply compost and introduce educational programs, enriching the lives of consumers and fostering community connections.

Moreover, the meeting sparked a comprehensive project to revitalize the employee recognition display at Arc Mercer's headquarters. Empowered by leadership, frontline teams embarked on a journey to create a vibrant space that honors the agency's values and celebrates the contributions of its dedicated staff.

Linda Joe, DSP at Horan and TAC meeting facilitator, emphasized, "It’s a good feeling to put something out there and have something done about it… It’s a good thing to work for a company that is always moving forward and never static."

Arc Mercer's Monthly Team Atmosphere Committee meeting exemplifies the agency's unwavering dedication to employee empowerment and collaboration.

By actively engaging frontline staff and valuing their contributions, Arc Mercer not only enhances operational efficiency but also cultivates a culture of innovation and inclusivity. As frontline voices continue to shape organizational practices and initiatives, Arc Mercer reaffirms its commitment to supporting and celebrating the invaluable contributions of its mission-critical staff.
