The Arc Mercer recently hosted its Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) Awards Luncheon, recognizing the outstanding contributions of employees and consumers from both July and August. Executive Director Steve Cook, along with the nominators for each award, presented the honorees with certificates and gift cards in a ceremony filled with appreciation and camaraderie. Attendees, including staff, families, and board members, enjoyed a complimentary lunch as they honored the inspiring efforts of the Arc Mercer community.
Team Impact Award Winner: Jason Davis
The Dawn Carmosino Team Impact Award was awarded to Jason Davis for his extraordinary contributions as part of the Residential team. Jason's commitment to excellence, from his organizational skills to his personal touch in service delivery, truly set him apart. His role in organizing the department's Gala and his leadership in welcoming new staff were notable highlights of his exceptional work.
Employee of the Month: Starr Kaite
Recognized as Employee of the Month for July, Starr Kaite from the day program staff was celebrated for her compassionate and selfless approach to supporting consumers. Her consistent reliability and genuine care for those she serves have made her a vital part of the team.
Employee of the Month: Anthony Payne
The luncheon also honored Anthony Payne, who was recognized as Employee of the Month for August. A Behavioral Direct Support Professional (BDSP) in the Special Needs Day Program, Anthony was nominated by Chris Hargraves, Jr., Director of Behavioral Services, for his strong rapport with consumers and his ability to de-escalate challenging situations. Anthony’s proactive and caring approach has set a high standard for excellence, making a lasting positive impact on those in his care.
Rising Star of the Month: Ebony Bynum
The Arc Mercer is proud to recognize Ebony Bynum as our Rising Star of the Month. A participant in the OTC program, Ebony has shown remarkable growth at Café 180. Despite past challenges, her passion for cooking and determination led to one-on-one training, helping her excel in food service. Ebony now completes full shifts with enthusiasm, impressing her employment specialist Heather Mino and Chef Jerry. Her hard work has set her on the path toward permanent employment in the kitchen. Congratulations, Ebony, on this well-deserved honor!
Rising Star of the Month: Nasira McDavidson
Nasira McDavidson from the Campus Day Program has been recognized as Rising Star of the Month for her dedication and positive attitude. Nominated by Shanequa Tarver, Nasira consistently helps around the program, supporting her peers and keeping the classroom clean. Staff appreciate her reliability and strong work ethic. In recognition of her efforts, Nasira will receive a framed certificate and a $100 gift card. Congratulations, Nasira, on your continued growth and impact!
