Supporting the People Who Support Others

At The Arc Mercer, our employees dedicate themselves every day to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. When members of that team face an unexpected hardship of their own, we believe they should have somewhere to turn.

That is the purpose of the Employee Relief Fund (ERF), a resource created to provide financial assistance to eligible employees experiencing serious, unforeseen challenges such as a family emergency, loss, or other personal hardship.

The fund is one of the ways The Arc Mercer works to build a culture where employees feel supported not only in their professional roles, but also during difficult moments in their personal lives.

Making a Difference for Employees

During Fiscal Year 2026, the Employee Relief Fund has already provided $4,500 in direct financial assistance to employees in need.

The fund is sustained through contributions from employees and other supporters who believe in helping members of the Arc Mercer community when it matters most. Since January 2026, more than $23,000 has been contributed to the fund, helping ensure resources remain available for future needs.

Every request for assistance is handled with care and confidentiality, with support considered based on the employee's individual circumstances and available resources.

The impact goes beyond the dollars distributed. For an employee facing an unexpected crisis, having access to assistance can provide stability, relief, and the reassurance that their workplace community is behind them.

Programs like the Employee Relief Fund reflect a broader commitment at The Arc Mercer: taking care of the people who spend their careers taking care of others.

By investing in employee well-being and creating meaningful support systems, we can help strengthen our workforce and, in turn, provide greater consistency and support for the individuals and families who depend on us.

The Employee Relief Fund is one more example of how The Arc Mercer community shows up for its employees when they need it most.
