Responsible for cleaning over 2.7 million square feet of commercial office space each day and delivering more than 650 cleaning hours daily, the Janitorial Department is one of the agency’s most productive divisions. It also stands as a major revenue generator for the Arc Mercer, supporting both our mission and long-term sustainability.

A cornerstone of this department’s success is its commitment to inclusive employment. Seventy-five percent of all janitorial work is completed by adults with special needs, offering meaningful employment and skill development opportunities to those we serve. Workforce numbers have remained strong, with over 100 employees annually since 2018, reaching 120 employees in 2024—nearly five times the workforce size in 1994.
