Frontline staff at The Arc Mercer are more than the backbone of daily operations, they are essential partners in shaping the agency’s future. The TAC Ambassador Program strengthens that partnership by elevating mission-critical staff, including Direct Support Professionals, Behavioral DSPs, Job Coaches, and Shift Managers, into leadership and strategic planning roles.
Ambassadors serve as a bridge between staff and the Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC), ensuring that frontline perspectives help guide decisions and shape the agency’s direction.
The program is intentionally designed as a development opportunity, giving staff the chance to build leadership, communication, and systems-level thinking skills. Through training, coaching, and real-world experience, Ambassadors gain the tools to influence policies, initiatives, and long-term planning, turning frontline expertise into a strategic asset.
As the role evolves, Ambassadors are increasingly included in strategic conversations, helping leadership understand how decisions impact daily operations and the people the agency supports. This approach ensures planning is grounded in experience, balancing innovation with practicality, and reinforcing a culture where staff insight drives meaningful, sustainable change.
Through their work, Ambassadors also help foster inclusive spaces, elevate staff perspectives, celebrate culture, recognize contributions, and develop initiatives that benefit both employees and the individuals the agency serves.
Their efforts create a more informed, connected, and responsive organizational culture, one where staff feel heard, valued, and invested in the agency’s mission.
By intentionally developing frontline staff as leaders and partners in planning, The Arc Mercer reinforces a simple truth: those closest to the work often have the clearest insight on how to move it forward.
As the TAC Ambassador Program continues to grow, it will play a pivotal role in strengthening engagement, supporting professional advancement, and keeping frontline voices central to the agency’s success.
