December TAC Awards Luncheon Highlights Dedication, Growth, and Leadership Across the Arc Mercer

The Arc Mercer gathered for its December Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) Awards Luncheon, celebrating staff members whose commitment, compassion, and leadership make a meaningful difference every day.


The agency recognized two Employees of the Month and two Rising Stars from October and November, while also honoring work anniversaries and the collective effort behind the agency’s culture of excellence.


At the heart of the event were the stories shared through peer nominations, each one offering a firsthand look at the impact these individuals have on consumers, coworkers, and the broader Arc Mercer community.


Rising Stars of the Month


The Rising Star of the Month Award honors individuals who demonstrate personal growth, resilience, and a strong commitment to learning and development.


October Rising Star of the Month: Corey Migdal

Corey was nominated by Andrea Resko of the Arc Mercer Healthcare Center, who recognized the progress he has made during his time at the Arc Mercer. In her nomination, Andrea highlighted Corey’s “remarkable growth, understanding, and dedication to his own development,” noting that his positive attitude and consistent smile contribute to the workplace environment. Corey’s recognition reflects both his personal achievements and the encouragement of staff who support his continued success.


November Rising Star of the Month: Ashley Bryant

Ashley was nominated by Pooran Rambaran, Janitorial, who shared a deeply personal reflection on Ashley’s journey. The nomination acknowledged the challenges Ashley has faced while emphasizing her strength, coachability, and willingness to grow. Pooran wrote:


“Her journey is a powerful reminder of why the work we do is so important. She embodies the mission of empowerment, inclusion, and opportunity.”


Ashley was also recognized for the role her dedication played in supporting a colleague’s onboarding experience, demonstrating how her impact extends beyond her own responsibilities.


Employees of the Month


The Employee of the Month Award recognizes staff who consistently go above and beyond in supporting consumers and living out the Arc Mercer’s mission.


October Employee of the Month: Tiara Williams (DSP, Campus Day)

Tiara was nominated by LaShana Deacon, Recreation Manager, who praised her dedication to the consumers she supports. In her nomination, LaShana emphasized Tiara’s ability to remain calm and handle behaviors safely, noting that families trust her deeply. “Families appreciate her and know their children are well cared for,” the nomination shared, highlighting Tiara’s strong communication and commitment to keeping families informed about consumer needs.


November Employee of the Month: Richard Galgano (OTC–Yardville)

Richard was nominated by Rosemary Reed, Employment Specialist, OTC–Yardville, who recognized his four years of dedication and leadership. Rosemary shared that Richard “takes our mission to heart,” ensuring that every decision he makes is in the best interest of the consumers.


As the leader of the horticulture program, Richard has invested significant time and energy into teaching consumers plant care and job skills, with the long-term goal of preparing them for meaningful work opportunities, including employment on the Arc Mercer farm.


Honoring Years of Service

In addition to monthly awards, the December TAC Awards Luncheon also recognized staff members celebrating important work anniversaries, honoring their dedication and long-standing commitment to the Arc Mercer.


Funmilola Alabi, SBSS, Yardville, Samuel Kargbo, DSP, Van Deusen, and Pedro Vasquez Sapon, Site Supervisor, Baskers Basin, MVC, were each recognized for 5 years of service.


Their continued commitment and contributions play an important role in supporting consumers and strengthening programs across the agency.


These milestones serve as a reminder that the Arc Mercer’s impact is built not only on daily acts of excellence, but also on years of service from dedicated staff.
