Bringing Benefits Directly to Employees

Understanding employee benefits can sometimes be challenging, especially when balancing the demands of a busy workday. While The Arc Mercer offers a wide range of benefits designed to support employees and their families, not every staff member has the time or opportunity to fully explore everything available to them.

To help bridge that gap, The Arc Mercer has created an innovative new position focused entirely on employee benefits education and engagement.

Emmanuel Bropleh Jr. has transitioned into a new role as Employee Benefits Representative, where he will work directly with employees across the organization to help them better understand and utilize the benefits available to them. Rather than waiting for employees to seek out information on their own, The Employee Benefits Representative will take a proactive approach by visiting programs, attending staff meetings, and engaging employees where they work.

The position reflects The Arc Mercer’s commitment to continually improving the employee experience and ensuring that staff have access not only to valuable benefits, but also to the information needed to make the most of them.

"Our benefits package includes a variety of programs that can positively impact employees' health, finances, and overall well-being," said Emmanuel. "Many employees are surprised to learn about some of the resources available to them.

My goal is to make benefits easier to understand and more accessible for our employees. Frontline staff have demanding schedules, so I want to bring information directly to them in a way that's simple, practical, and easy to apply to their everyday lives."

Throughout the year, the Employee Benefits Representative will provide education and guidance on topics such as healthcare benefits, wellness resources, retirement savings opportunities, employee assistance programs, pet insurance, reimbursement programs, premium holiday initiatives, and other employee support services.

The role represents a shift from a traditional benefits communication model toward a more hands-on, relationship-based approach. By bringing benefits education directly into programs and departments, employees can receive information in a more personal and accessible way while having opportunities to ask questions and receive individualized support.

This initiative is another example of The Arc Mercer’s ongoing investment in its workforce. By helping employees better understand and utilize available resources, the organization aims to support healthier, more informed, and more engaged team members.

As the Employee Benefits Representative begins visiting programs and meeting with employees across the agency, staff can expect increased access to benefits information, personalized support, and a trusted resource dedicated to helping them maximize the value of the benefits they earn through their work.

At a time when employee well-being is more important than ever, The Arc Mercer continues to look for innovative ways to support the people who make its mission possible every day.
