Arc Mercer Athletes Shine at Special Olympics Summer Games

Determination, sportsmanship, and months of hard work were on full display as several Arc Mercer consumers recently represented the agency at the Special Olympics Summer Games, competing alongside athletes from across New Jersey in Track & Field, Bocce, and Softball events.

The competition provided consumers with an opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities, build confidence, and experience the excitement of participating in one of the state's premier sporting events for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Among the standout performances, Corey Migdall and Tyffany Sukiennik earned silver and gold medals in Track & Field competition, demonstrating their dedication and commitment throughout the season. Amy Zeitlin also brought home a gold medal in Bocce, adding another impressive achievement to the team's success.

In addition to the medal winners, Michael Doney, Ellis Toggweiler, Traci Fischer, Crystal Murray, and Marqui Foster-Pittson proudly represented The Arc Mercer in their respective events. Their participation reflects the courage, perseverance, and positive attitude that make the Special Olympics competition so meaningful.

While medals are certainly worth celebrating, the true victory was the opportunity for consumers to challenge themselves, pursue personal goals, and experience the pride that comes from representing their community on a statewide stage.
