At The Arc Mercer, longevity isn’t the exception—it’s the culture. In an industry known for high turnover, the agency maintains a staff turnover rate of just 6%. That figure reflects more than strong retention—it speaks to a workplace where individuals find purpose, develop professionally, and stay connected to a mission-driven community.
Several outstanding employees were recently recognized for their years of dedicated service.
Honoring Years of Impact
25 Years of Service: Tarweh Witherspoon

Tarweh has remained a steady and dedicated presence for a quarter century, offering support, mentorship, and leadership. In addition to his work in direct care, he serves on the Team Atmosphere Committee and as co-chair of the Liberian Culture Group, contributing to both internal culture and international outreach initiatives.
15 Years of Service: Barbara Walker-McBean and Felicia Howard-Goldware

Both Barbara and Felicia have provided 15 years of consistent service, contributing stability and long-term expertise to Arc Mercer’s programs. Their commitment exemplifies how sustained experience fosters growth and quality of care.
10 Years of Service: Chrystal McNiel

Chrystal has become a cornerstone within the residential program, recognized for calm leadership and deep knowledge of care practices. Her decade of service highlights both loyalty and the ability to lead with confidence.
5 Years of Service: Leasa Farquharson, Ashlie Tuccillo, and Tracy Webb
Each of these individuals has spent five years making meaningful contributions through professionalism, compassion, and consistency in service delivery.
These anniversaries represent more than milestones. They reflect a workplace culture built on support, trust, and meaningful relationships—an environment where careers are not only sustained but nurtured over time.
A Workplace That Feels Like Family

Strong professional bonds and mutual respect define the employee experience at The Arc Mercer. This culture of connection extends across roles—from direct support professionals to leadership—and creates a unified, people-centered atmosphere.
One example is Minnie Gordon, a valued member of the Arc Mercer Café team who has served since 2004. Her two decades of dedication, marked by kindness and unwavering work ethic, exemplify the family-like atmosphere that many staff members describe as a defining feature of the organization.
For those who choose to build their careers at The Arc Mercer, the agency offers more than a job—it offers a place to grow, contribute meaningfully, and make a lasting impact. Staff members' loyalty and long-standing commitment continue to set a standard for excellence in the field of intellectual and developmental disability services.
Congratulations to all anniversary honorees, and gratitude to every team member contributing to the strength and heart of the Arc Mercer community.
