The Arc Mercer’s Team Atmosphere Committee (TAC) is proud to highlight the important work of the Jamaican Cultural Connection Group as it launches a Hurricane Relief Drive to support individuals and families in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa. This effort reflects the agency’s commitment to standing with its diverse staff and the global communities they represent, especially in times of crisis.
The drive is collecting essential items that will be sent directly to families recovering from the storm. Staff who have already contributed clothing, toiletries, first aid supplies, non-perishables, and over-the-counter medications have made an immediate impact, and the Jamaican Cultural Connection Group extends sincere appreciation to every employee who has donated so far. Their generosity is already helping build comfort and stability for those who need it most.
Items Needed Include:
Clothing: All sizes for adults and children (gently used or new)
Toiletries: Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine hygiene products
Non-Perishables: Canned goods, rice, pasta, and other dry goods
First Aid Supplies: Bandages, gauze, antiseptic wipes, basic first-aid kits
Over-the-Counter Medicine: Pain relievers, cold/flu medications, vitamins
Donations can be dropped off in your program’s designated donation box through December 5th.
In addition to physical donations, staff may also make a monetary contribution. All funds collected will go directly toward providing immediate resources to families recovering from Hurricane Melissa.
Every contribution, big or small, helps deliver comfort, stability, and vital support to those affected. The Arc Mercer thanks all staff for their compassion, generosity, and dedication to supporting both our internal community and those beyond our walls.
