The Arc Mercer is proud to announce the launch of Consumer Break Rooms, designed to promote relaxation and well-being for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These innovative spaces, now available at two Special Needs Day Program locations and one residential site, Forest, serve as havens for both participants and staff alike. More break rooms will begin to roll out and eventually become available at all of our programs.
In recognition of the demanding nature of their work, The Arc Mercer acknowledges the importance of providing support and comfort to its dedicated staff members. Therefore, in addition to being accessible to participants, the Consumer Break Rooms are also open to staff members. This ensures that all members of the community have access to resources that promote self-care and emotional wellness.
Equipped with amenities such as massage chairs, sound machines, and aromatherapy resources, these break rooms offer a sanctuary where individuals can retreat to recharge and rejuvenate. Whether seeking solace during moments of distress or simply desiring to enhance their overall well-being, both participants and staff can utilize these spaces to achieve a state of relaxation and tranquility.
By prioritizing the mental and emotional well-being of both participants and staff, The Arc Mercer reaffirms its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. By ensuring that staff members are cared for and comfortable, The Arc Mercer enhances its capacity to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The introduction of Consumer Break Rooms represents another step forward in The Arc Mercer's mission to empower individuals and create communities where everyone thrives. As these spaces become integral parts of the organization's culture, they serve as symbols of The Arc Mercer's unwavering dedication to promoting holistic well-being for all.
