At Arc Mercer, employee development isn’t just encouraged, it’s built into our culture. One of the best examples of this is our recent Train-the-Trainer project in partnership with Handle With Care (HWC), a nationally recognized training program in safe and effective behavioral supports.

Representatives from HWC visited Arc Mercer to lead an intensive training session for both annual recertifications and the development of new field instructors. These field instructors not only completed training directly with the HWC administration, but also shadowed our Director of Behavioral Services and members of our training department, ensuring they had hands-on mentorship before stepping into their new role.

As a result, Arc Mercer is proud to recognize five employees who have advanced into becoming certified Handle With Care trainers:

  • Jamie Johnson

  • Bismark Ntow

  • Michael Ogbewele

  • Marissa Rosato

  • Reuben Omogi

These employees are now able to train staff directly in the field, multiplying the impact of the HWC program across our agency. Their achievement is not only a milestone in their own professional journeys, but also a reflection of Arc Mercer’s investment in creating opportunities for growth and leadership within our workforce.

At Arc Mercer, careers aren’t static — they expand with dedication, learning, and support. The Train-the-Trainer initiative demonstrates how our team members can move from learners to leaders, strengthening our agency while developing their own skills.
