Empowering Lives Through Opportunity – it’s what we’re all about.
The Arc Mercer is an association for people with mental retardation and
developmental disabilities. We are committed to empowering the lives of all
people with mental retardation or developmental disability (known collectively
as cognitive disability) through opportunities to set and realize their goals.
On any given day, The Arc Mercer serves more than 1,000 people who have
cognitive disability or who are family members and/or caregivers of those with a
disability, through one of our many programs or services.
Our organization is dedicated to reducing the incidence and limiting the
consequences of mental retardation and developmental disability through
prevention, education and advocacy. We provide programs for those who need them
and opportunities to work and live in the larger community. In addition,
families, caregivers and friends have found in The Arc Mercer a place of
understanding, friendship and support.
The Arc Mercer is the local chapter of The Arc, which is one of the nation’s
largest mental health organizations, and the state organization, The Arc of New
Jersey.
