At the Arc Mercer, we depend greatly on our volunteers. No matter what your talents or areas of interest, The Arc Mercer offers a variety of programs for volunteers to become involved with. From advocacy programs and occupational training to recreation and summer camp, it’s the efforts of volunteers that make these programs possible.
Volunteer Opportunities
Advocate for the Developmentally Disabled
Serve as a voice for individuals with developmental disabilities
Teach Home Living Skills
Help consumers achieve the goals they have set
Assist Consumers with Jobs and Social Skills
Empower consumers by helping them learn their jobs and model interaction
Support Our Office Staff
Go behind the scenes doing important work that helps keep us in the business of helping others
Help with After Care/Respite Programs
Help provide a safe and structured environment while parents work evening and weekend hours
Participate in Recreation Activities
Have fun participating in recreational activities and Special Olympics event
Support Camp Conquest
Help our camp counselors provide a true summer camp experience
Chaperone Consumer Trips
Serve as a “buddy” for the day during special day trips
Assist with Special Events
Help make our fundraisers a success
