Custodial Service Curriculum Overview

All core curriculum components are taught within the context of community based work experiences. Students are exposed to and learn the following skills:

• Define terms associated with the custodial service industry
  
• Identify careers available in the custodial service industry
  
• Identify the purpose of custodial care
  
• Learn appropriate safety procedures
  
• Use the tools and equipment of the custodial service industry
  
• Identify supplies, products, and chemicals and proper mixing
  
• Learn to order supplies
  
• Learn appropriate techniques to clean various surfaces
  
• Learn set up of furniture for meetings and conferences
  
• Learn garbage handling procedures
  
• Understand uniform and security badge procedures
