The Arc/Mercer, an association for people with mental retardation, is committed to securing for all people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals.

The Arc/Mercer is dedicated to reducing the incidence and limiting the consequences of mental retardation through prevention, education, and advocacy. Programs are provided for those who need them, and opportunities for integration in the larger community are sought. Friendship and support are offered to families, friends and the community.

The Arc/Mercer provides leadership in the field of mental retardation and associated disabilities and develops the necessary resources to attain these goals.
