Job Training
The Arc/Mercer offers an extensive Job Training Program called our “Vocational Spectrum” where consumers get the tools they need to be successful in the job market and earn a paycheck while they are at it.
Our spectrum begins with a full skills assessment in our Occupational Training Center. Interested consumers are interviewed by job coaches who determine initial placement and track. We currently offer training in Janitorial Services, Food Services and Lawn Maintenance.
Once the path is set, our hands-on-staff work to give each consumer the tools they need to progress through our OTC training sections working on our mailing and fulfillment projects. Upon successful completion, consumers are placed in enclave settings of their choosing in one of our Janitorial contracts, our Touch of Taste Kitchen or working with our Maintenance Crew doing lawn maintenance at our buildings and group homes.
Our ultimate goal is competitive employment in a job that meets their needs!
