Club Hero
What Is Youth Club HERO?
Youth Club HERO is a social club for teens and young
adults with disabilities who are between the ages of
13 and 21. It is designed to bring peers
together to share experiences, learn leadership
skills, develop new friendships and explore common
interests in a safe, supervised setting.
What kinds of activities are offered?
Club members are offered the opportunity to plan and
participate in a variety of activities outside the
home, including:
- Social Events – Club members can enjoy themselves in a range of social events including dinners, dances, seasonal parties and other activities.
- Club Classes – Volunteers from the community offer their specialized knowledge to members in small group settings. Lessons may be offered to members about painting, cooking, poetry, music or any other area of interest.
- Heros on the Move – Club members have the chance to participate in supervised day trips to Atlantic City, events at the Sovereign Bank Arena, Broadway shows, sporting events museums, the theater or concerts.
- Traveling Heros – Supervised weekend or week-long getaways are offered to Club members at least annually. Destinations may include Universal Studios in Florida, Niagara Falls, or Oregon for a camping expedition.
Are there any costs for Youth
Club HERO members?
To receive all the benefits of Club membership,
there is an annual fee of $50. Small fees may be
associated with specific events.
Financial assistance with dues and costs is
available, if needed.
